Explore the Oregon Coast’s many lighthouses
- Cape Arago, 12 miles SW of North Bend. Originally built in 1908.
- Cape Blanco, 9 miles north of Port Orford. Built in 1870, it is the oldest lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. It stands 245 feet above sea level, open April-Oct.
- Cape Meares, 10 miles west of Tillamook. This lighthouse stands 217 feet above the ocean, however the 38-foot tower is theshortest on the Oregon Coast, built in 1890.
- Coquille River, in Bullard’s Beach State Park, 2 miles north of Bandon, built in 1896. Open May-Oct.
- Heceta Head, 12 miles north of Florence. Built in 1894 it stands 205 feet high on the 1000 ft Heceta Head. Open May-Sept.
- Yaquina Bay, in Yaquina Bay State Park, Newport. The 2nd oldest – In-service 1871 to 1874, now a museum.
- Yaquina Head Natural Area & Lighthouse, just north of Agate Beach in Newport. This wildlife sanctuary is great for whale watching, bird viewing & tidepools.
